O-Bon at Dai Bosatsu Zendo
This O-Bon 2021 is an unprecedented occasion, with so many losses in our country and around the globe. Holding this annual ceremony is always of great importance as a way of expressing our gratitude to departed family members, teachers, and friends, but it is especially meaningful during these pandemic months.
Unfortunately, registration for in-person attendance is full, but please join us on Zoom to view all events.
If you wish to submit the names of departed loved ones for inclusion in the Dai Segaki dedication and for inscribing on lanterns, please email the DBZ office as soon as possible, and consider making a contribution in their honor. The event will begin Friday evening with the Opening Fire, symbolically calling their spirits back. On Saturday we will participate in the beautiful O-Bon chanting service. As night falls, the lanterns will be set afloat onto Beecher Lake, followed by a closing bonfire.
