Hokuto Sensei will lead this sesshin to commemorate the founding of our temple. New York Zendo Shobo-ji opened its doors on Sept. 15, 1968, and was one of the first Rinzai Zen practice centers to be established in the United States. For over half a century, we have continued to offer authentic Rinzai Zen training amid the never-ending bustle of life in Manhattan.

In addition to zazen, chanting and kinhin, there will be teisho and dokusan. Chigan Roshi will deliver a teisho on Zoom. Both Chigan Roshi and Hokuto Sensei will offer Dharma interviews. This sesshin will be held both online and with limited in-person attendance. ZSS Covid Protocols will apply.
