Quantum Physicist, Amit Goswami, Ph.D.
Amit Goswami, Ph.D., is a quantum physicist and professor emeritus from the University of Oregon’s Institute of Theoretical Science, where he taught for 30 years. Dr. Goswami is the author of the textbook Quantum Mechanics, which is used in many colleges and universities world-wide. He is also the author of several popular books including The Self-Aware Universe and How Quantum Activism Can Save Civilization (2011). Dr. Goswami has also been featured in several films such as "What the Bleep Do We Know?", "The Dalai Lama Renaissance", and an award-winning documentary, "The Quantum Activist".
Dr. Goswami has been instrumental in creating a new paradigm in the field of science which he calls “science within consciousness,” or “quantum consciousness,” exploring the notion that “consciousness is the ground of being” (The Center for Quantum Activism). He is interested in exploring the ways in which the intersection of science and spirituality can create a better, more peaceful world. In his new book, How Quantum Activism Can Save Civilization, Dr. Goswami elucidates how this new paradigm can help to create “new, healthy practices that restore wholeness…” and to promote “a spiritual economics that is concerned with our well-being, rather than only our material needs” (The Center for Quantum Activism).
His talk should be enlightening, educational, and thought-provoking for everyone who is interested in the interrelationship between science and spirituality, the interconnection between consciousness and matter, and the potential for quantum physics to elucidate these connections.
