It is almost time the annual ACTS spring banquet! The keynote speaker for this year's banquet is the director of the Central New York chapter of the New York Civil Liberties Union, Yusuf Abdul-Qadir. Abdul-Qadir will inform, energize, and challenge us to create a community with racial and economic equity. In addition, three local leaders will be receiving Social Justice Awards recognizing their commitment to bringing equity to our community.

These local leaders are Mohamed Khater, president of the Islamic Society of CNY; Derrick Dorsey, executive director of the Boys and Girls Club of Syracuse and Syracuse School District commissioner of education; and Marsha Weissman, former executive director of the Center for Community Alternatives. We will also have an announcement and presentation of a new award to Reverend Dr. Nebraski Carter, Pastor of Living Water COGIC.

Tickets can be purchased by calling the ACTS office at (315) 416-6363 or via their website.
