Interfaithworks and Bhutanese Community of Syracuse Partner for Nepal

InterFaith Works of CNY and the Bhutanese Community of Syracuse are partnering to raise donations to benefit victims of the April 24, 2015, earthquake that struck Nepal. The worst earthquake to strike the area in more than 80 years, it had a magnitude of 7.8. InterFaith Works has settled many Bhutanese refugees in Syracuse. Due to persecution in their native Bhutan, many refugees fled to Nepal and lived in refugee camps before being resettled in the United States. Many Syracuse Bhutanese still have family and friends in Nepal.

Those wishing to donate, may drop off cash or send a check (with “Nepal earthquake donation” in the memo line) to InterFaith Works, 1010 James St., Syracuse, NY 13203. InterFaith Works will send all donations collected to be used for current critical relief efforts and for rebuilding hospitals and schools.
