Jerome Witkin

Jerome Witkin is one of the most important artists of our time. His paintings and drawings are featured in collections throughout the world, including the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Hirshhorn, and the Uffizi.  Many of his large-scale, multi-panelled works deal with major social issues and the general theme of the human capacity for both cruelty and compassion.  He is a long-time professor in the Syracuse University School of Art, and has had numerous solo exhibitions.  The book Life Lessons: The Art of Jerome Witkin, written by Roko Sherry Chayat (Shinge Roshi), is now in its second printing.  Witkin is represented by Jack Rutberg Gallery, Los Angeles.
